SOCIOLOGY COMPUTER LABS

The Sociology Computer labs provide up-to-date facilities for instruction and research. All computers are attached to our Local Area Network, which in turn provides full Internet and Web access.

The Undergraduate Student lab (Kissena 208) was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation's Program in Instrument and Laboratory Equipment. It contains 15 Pentium machines. All the machines are networked and linked to the lab printer (an HP 5si Laserjet printer). These facilities are available for use by students taking courses in Sociology.

The Faculty lab (Kissena 212) currently has seven Pentiums, an HP Scanjet IIcx scanner, and an HP IIIsi Laserjet printer. These facilities are available for research exclusively by Sociology faculty, graduate students, and research assistants.

The Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) lab (Kissena 252A) is a training and research facility for survey research. It has six-networked stations running ACS Query.
