Professor Andrew Beveridge Testifies On The Jury System in the Addison Trial

“Dr. Andrew Beveridge, a sociology professor at Queens College in New York who specializes in demography, testified yesterday about a study he did at the request of Addison’s lawyers. It found that minorities and young people were underrepresented among jurors called last year in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester, where Addison is scheduled to be tried in September. ”

Professor Sujatha Fernandes Receives the 2008 Feliks Gross Award

Sujatha Fernandes has won the 2008 Feliks Gross Award from the CUNY Academy for
the Humanities and Sciences, which is “presented each year to an assistant
professor in recognition of outstanding research, or potential for such, in
the humanities or sciences, including social and life sciences.” This year
there are two winners, the other, Vinod Menon, from the physics department
at Queens.
